Application Guidelines 

 

 

Anyone can be an apprentice, as long as they meet the following requirements:

  • 16+ years old

  • Eligible to work in Wales

  • Currently not in full-time education

Your chosen apprenticeship level will depend on your current skills and qualifications. Take a look at the following table to see which levels are available!

The apprentice will receive a salary that corresponds to the National Minimum Wage.

What are the basic requirements?

  • The basic requirements of the role will depend on the Apprenticeship level. They will be outlined in the Person Specification for the role. 

Is there an age limit?

  • No, but there is a priority for young people between the ages of 16 to 19. 

What will be the length of the apprenticeship?

  • Apprenticeships can take between 12 and 36 months to complete, dependant on the specific needs of the qualifications and placement. 

Where will the training be held?

  • You would be released from work, to study in College or University or you could follow a distance-learning programme, if the provision is work-based only. 

As an apprentice, which qualification will I follow?

  • This will depend on the apprenticeship you choose. The Apprenticeship Framework includes qualifications for all levels.
