Popular footbridge re-opens in Pwllheli

Date: 24/12/2024

Cyngor Gwynedd has reopened a popular footbridge near Lôn Cob Bach in Pwllheli with support from the Gwynedd Nature Partnership. This follows repair work required after fire damage.

The footbridge that connects Lôn Cob Bach and Pont Solomon in Pwllheli was closed following concerns of a deliberate fire. Significant damage was caused to parts of the wooden bridge which meant that the structure was not safe for the public to use.

The Council is pleased that the footbridge which is a popular location in the town has been able to re-open before the end of the year.

A significant portion of the footbridge was burnt on the evening of Wednesday, 23 October 2023. The Council urges the public to report any damage of vandalism to North Wales Police.
