An opportunity for Gwynedd residents to have their say about tourism
Date: 22/10/2024
Cyngor Gwynedd wishes to hear and understand the views of local communities about tourism.
This survey is open to all Gwynedd residents and is an opportunity for them to give their comments about many aspects of tourism, including any positive or negative influence communities have experienced in relation to employment, quality of life, the environment, heritage and Welsh culture.
Councillor Nia Jeffreys, Cabinet Member for Economy and Community, said:
"We are keen to learn more about the impact that tourism has on our communities here in Gwynedd and what are the advantages and disadvantages that arise from it.
"This survey is timely as a year has passed since we launched the Gwynedd and Eryri Plan 2035, which is the Strategic Plan for sustainable tourism in the area. The intention of the plan is to assist the area to support sustainable tourism into the future.
"This is also an opportunity for people to share their views on the effects of tourism since the designation of the Slate Landscape of Northwest Wales as a World Heritage Site in 2021.
"The findings of the survey will help us guide tourism policy into the future and enable us to respond in the best way to meet the local needs of our communities.
"If you have any views on the subject, I encourage you to take a few minutes to fill in the questionnaire."
The survey is managed wholly by Cyngor Gwynedd and funded by the UK Shared Prosperity Fund.
It is possible to take part in the survey by visiting the Cyngor Gwynedd website: Tourism Survey - Gwynedd Residents (llyw.cymru)
The survey will close on 15 November, 2024.
