Diwyllesiant Fund
Cyngor Gwynedd is pleased to invite expressions of interest from non-profit organisations (including social enterprises and event organisers) to submit proposals for support through the Diwyllesiant Fund.
Closing date for submitting applications: 12:00pm on the 23 May 2025.
What is the purpose of the Diwyllesiant Fund?
“To support the well-being and benefit of communities, the environment, and businesses in Gwynedd through culture activities (arts and heritage), leisure (sport, physical activity, health, and well-being), and events."
In support of the above, priority will be given to:

Supporting new activities or enabling organisations to deliver new services / or attract new audiences and beneficiaries.

Supporting activities across Gwynedd. Consideration will be given to ensuring that the fund reaches the whole of Gwynedd.
What is available?
- Capital and/or revenue grants between £1,000.00 and £7,000.00.
- Funding for projects/events that can be carried out between 1 April 2025 and 31 January 2026.
More information
Projects are expected to:
- Help the people of Gwynedd access, enjoy, and engage with the arts.
- Improve community engagement for everyone, celebrating our rich heritage and culture.
- Create additional/new opportunities to be physically active through sports, fitness, and/or wellbeing activities.
- Contribute to improving the wellbeing of the people of Gwynedd through physical, artistic, and cultural projects.
- Support new events or contribute to the sustainability of an event that meets the board’s requests.
- Contribute to the sustainability of organisations that provide the opportunities above.
- Support new activities or enable organisations to deliver new services / or attract new audiences and beneficiaries.
All projects must be completed by 31 January 2026.
- Purchase of equipment e.g. sports equipment, equipment to support cultural activities or to host events
- New projects / events
- Costs associated with new posts / jobs
- Activities such as marketing, consultancy fees, or new programme or audience development
- Hosting events / celebrations.

- Equipment and building maintenance costs
- Costs of carrying out existing projects/activities
- Job salaries
- Projects/activities taking place outside the boundaries of Gwynedd.

The project selection process will be competitive, and candidates are expected to complete all questions following the detailed guidelines.
Incomplete applications will not be considered for funding.
A panel will score applications based on the information provided in the application form.

Funding offer letters will be sent out as soon as possible after week commencing 26 May 2025.
All projects must be completed by 31 January 2026.

Before submitting your application, we encourage you to contact your Local Community Support Officer and/or an officer in the specific field you wish to apply to, to discuss your ideas and receive additional support in determining your project's eligibility.
