Food Scheme Grant
Guidelines
Cyngor Gwynedd has received Capital and Revenue grants to support community food and feeding schemes, with the aim to support an increasing number of people experiencing food poverty.
What?
We invite applications for grant funding towards schemes that achieve one or more of the following:
- Support Food Banks
- Support Feeding Schemes for vulnerable people (hot meals, meals on wheels, eating clubs, supper clubs)
- Support Food Parcels / Food Package Community schemes to support vulnerable people.
Eligible items of expenditure may include the following (but this is not an exhaustive list): -
- Capital - Purchase equipment for preparing, storing and distributing food
- Capital - Purchase equipment to support initiatives that develop local food growing and distribution initiatives.
- Capital - IT tools to facilitate agency referral systems and user contact.
- Revenue - Running costs of community cafes, lunch / supper clubs, feeding schemes.
- Revenue - Management, coordination and running costs (Maximum of 20% of revenue grant total)
- Revenue - Training costs for volunteers
- Revenue - Contribution towards helping co-locate food enterprises with other support services / community hubs
How much?
Maximum grant available;
- Capital - Up to £5,000
- Revenue - Up to £4,000
Who?
Applications are invited from community groups, charities, community and town councils, and voluntary organisations.
When?
Applications will be assessed regularly, however; the application rounds will be determined by the fund’s remaining budget.
The assessment rounds will close on the following dates:
- Round 1 - April 25th, 2025
- Round 2 - June 25th, 2025
- Round 3 - August 25th, 2025
- Round 4 - October 25th, 2025
- Round 5 - December 25th, 2025
