Help is available to adapt your home to make life easier for both person and carer.

 

Equipment to help a person live independently

You can find information about the tools available to make daily life easier in the Help to Live Independently section of this website. You can find advice to help the person you are caring for with difficulties they are facing in: 

  • The home – e.g. the bathroom, stairs, living room, garden.
  • Everyday activities- e.g. shopping, dressing, food preparation.
  • Their health – e.g. medication management, home safety, vision and hearing.

Disabled facilities grant

The purpose of this grant is for adapting your home to facilitate access and mobility around the house.

Other grants

Other Grants are available, such as an Enabling Grant. These grants are for a smaller amount, but are not means tested. For more information contact your Occupational Therapist or Social Worker.
