Tai ar Daith: Housing drop-in sessions
Interested in learning more about Cyngor Gwynedd and partners’ housing schemes? Want to know what help is available to find a suitable home? Come and join us for one of our 'Tai ar Daith’ sessions.
The purpose of these events is to raise awareness about the various housing schemes available to ensure that the people of Gwynedd have access to a suitable home which is of a high standard, affordable and improves their quality of life.
What is a Tai ar Daith event?
Tai ar Daith events are organised by Cyngor Gwynedd and will be held in Bethesda, Porthmadog, Tywyn and Nefyn. In these informal drop-in sessions, come along and ask questions and chat directly with specialist housing officers.
Why attend?
Call in to:
- have face-to-face meetings with Council's officers and partners to discuss your specific needs – if you need help filling in an application form for social housing or if you want to discuss the Council's general housing schemes, we are here to help
- learn more about the housing schemes available to help you from the Council's Housing Action Plan, including our 'Tŷ Gwynedd' housebuilding programme, empty home grants and loans to help buy a home.
- understand exactly what the Council and its partners are doing to increase the supply of housing for local people, ensure that no one is homeless in Gwynedd and tackle the cost-of-living crisis.
- have access to a wealth of resources and specialist housing advice.
Who will be there?
Teams from across the Council's departments will be present, including:
- The Council's housing projects – come and learn more about schemes available from the Council to help you find a home.
- Housing options – need advice and support with the process of applying for social housing from experienced officers? The Housing Options team will be there to help.
- Planning – an opportunity for informal advice and to ask questions about potential development projects, and discuss matters relating to the Article 4 Direction.
- Homelessness – support for people experiencing homelessness or people who are at risk of becoming homeless, from advice to stay in your home, to presenting as homeless to the Council.
- Energy Advice – there are many schemes available to help you keep your home warm and energy efficient. Our Energy Advisers will be on hand to discuss your options and help you find the right support.
- Cost of living support – if you’re struggling with day-to-day costs, advice will be available from officers to help with bills, food and other costs associated with the home.
- Family information service – the first point of call for children, families and professionals who want information, advice or support relating to children and families.
Gwynedd housing associations will also be present, along with other partners involved in the Council's housing projects.
