Public Charging Instructions

  • Once parked, switch the car off, put it in park and open the charging hatch. Plug your cable into your car.
  • Open Evolt Network app.
  • Go to the map and click into the Search Location or CPID and you will be given the option to add a postcode or a charger ID number – the charger you are in front of will have its own unique ID number – usually starting SEC.
  • Using no gaps or punctuation, type in the number and the unit details should populate for you. You will see details about the station/tariff and additional information. You will also see the connectors listed with an Available or In Use button next to them – click on the correct one for you and then you will be asked to confirm Start Charging.
  • The app will connect to the charger and a message will tell you to connect your cable. Plug into the charge unit and then lock your car. The charge light on the unit should turn green and you should see a light by the charge socket on your car.
  • Whilst the car is charging, keep the app open in the background to ensure charging continues. When you are ready to disconnect, open the app and select stop charging, wait for the lights to change to blue on the charger, and then disconnect the unit first, and then the car.

You must pre-register with Evolt for an RFID to use this method: Register here
