Planning for the future

Planning for the future is important for anyone in a caring role. Should an emergency arise, and the carer is unable to continue to care, having contingency arrangements that have been discussed and agreed by both the person being looked after and the carer is vital.

Sharing information about medication and practical arrangements with family members or friends is a good idea, so that they are aware of the needs should there be any change to normal care arrangements.

Carers Wales charity has developed an App that can help carers share information and caring arrangements with family, friends or others who share the care.
